Privacy policy

This policy explains how PM Carpets & Flooring ("we", "us") uses the personal information you give us through this website. We are the data controller for that information. What we collect

When you request a quote we collect the details you enter:

• your name, phone number, postcode and, if you give it, your email address
• details of the job: flooring type, rooms, rough size, property type, timescale and any message
• any photos you choose to attach

To stop the form being abused we also process a one-way, salted hash of your IP address for a short time (15 minutes) to limit repeated submissions. We never store your IP address itself.

How we use it

Only to respond to your enquiry: to contact you, arrange a measure and give you a quote, and, if you go ahead, to carry out and keep records of the work. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in running the business. We do not sell your information, use it for marketing without asking you, or share it with anyone except as below.

Who can see it

Your quote request is emailed to Peter. The website is hosted by Hostinger, whose servers process the request, and the email is delivered through our email provider. Both act on our instructions.

How long we keep it

• Photos uploaded with a quote are deleted from the website's server automatically after 30 days.
• Quote emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows, and for business records as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict its use. Contact us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
